Lead Pastor Christian & Jenna Pye

What I do: I aim to keep five areas in focus as I pastor: to preach the Gospel clearly and lovingly, to stay in tune with God's presence, to care for those who need care, to develop leaders to love and serve the Church body, and to aim to model a healthy rhythm of faith.
Spouse/Kids: Jenna is my wife and she is fantastic. She is a brilliant person who is more beautiful, more talented, and more fun than I could ever be. We have three sons, Lachlan, Jovan, and Esmond who bring incredible joy and bursts of energy to our adventures.
Wisdom or bit of advice: "If a robot did 'the robot dance,' would it still be called 'the robot dance?'... or... just 'dancing?" - Philoso-raptor
How I got involved with Hammond Bay: I came to Hammond Bay in 2011 shortly after my degree. God seemed to pave the way for me to serve here as the Associate Pastor. In 2018 the Church called me to be their Lead Pastor.
A few of my favorite things: The Trinitarian God, my wife, my sons, my bike, books, the outdoors, playing instruments, exercising, travelling, and coffee shops.
I like this quote: “All believers must learn the habit of inwardly redirecting thoughts toward faith, hope and love, and away from the lies that create hopelessness, fear, selfishness and ungodly priorities.” - Steve Backlund
Education: I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Columbia Bible College and was ordained by the Church in 2017.
Hope and Vision for Hammond Bay: That we embrace Christ's love and extend it to each other, our community, and beyond.
Hometown: Nanaimo, B.C.
